NAAN

Originally from Puerto Rico, NAAN now resides in the Midwest. Fluent in Spanish and English, she graduated from Iowa State University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics with Russian Studies and a Bachelor’s in German. As of 2018, she also now holds a Master’s in Graphic Design from the same university.

Likes Dadaism, mythology/religion readings, linguistics, decorative fonts, 80s new wave, the jpop band globe and Falco of Austria.

R.A. Carter

R.A. Carter is a resident of Texas, known for her first comic "Witches of the Evening". She grew up reading comics with her father, giving her a love of the art of comic books. At 15 she was diagnosed with Narcolepsy, a sleep disorder, alongside having Cataplexy (sudden muscle weakness) and Migraines. She loves to spend time researching and learning new things, particularly cultures, mythology, and religions.

​She's self-taught in art, working primarily in traditional media, but is also self-taught in digital art. Her favorite genre is Horror, and loves Dark Magical Girl shows such as 'Puella Magi Madoka Magica' and 'Magical Girl Site'.

Kata Kane

Kata Kane is an illustrator & comic book artist best known as the creator of ALTAR GIRL. She is also the artist for GFFs: GHOST FRIENDS FOREVER and ANA AND THE COSMIC RACE (Papercutz). Kata art directs the comic series DRAGONS BY THE YARD and MARY SHELLEY PRESENTS with Kymera Press.

Blue Dragon

Blue Dragon is a big fan of manga, graphic novels, and comics in general. She has been hooked on comics since she was a kid, and first introduced to anime through Sailor Moon. This was also her first manga in 1997.

​She received her Visual Arts BA from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 2010, and continues to work on improving her art.

Janaka Davis

Janaka is a supervisor at a pizzeria as well as a comic artist. She lives in beautiful southern Oregon, and she loves drawing and creating stories. The first interest she ever had with comics was at an Scholastic Book Fair at her middle school; she picked up a manga and was hooked on the visual story telling medium!

She's mostly self taught, with a few drawing and basic design classes under her belt.

Freiha​

The self-taught artist from Germany with a weakness for darker magical girl series, such as Mahou Shojo Madoka Magika has been writing stories ever since 6th grade. She's written multiple original stories and fanfictions (all in German) but her biggest project is Arindia no Densetsu, which she started 15 years ago and is still developing. In 2008 she finished the first season (German, unpublished) and decided to draw the second season as a comic and publish it online on deviantart.

Renie Jesanis (she/her) is a writer, illustrator, and editor based in Boston, Massachusetts. Her work as editor with the comics anthology Being True was nominated for the 2019 Prism Award for Best Anthology, and she is an active leader with the Boston Comics Roundtable. In what little spare time she has, she enjoys playing tabletop RPGs and playing the piano. Her favorite

She received her Bachelors in Environmental Engineering from Clarkson University and is a self-taught artist. She is very bad at watching TV, but enjoys the manga for Magical Girl Raising Project and Sailor Moon.

Rink, a.k.a. kellerybird, hails from California, USA and prides herself on being largely self-taught. A long time fan of magical girls, it's her dream to make her own magical girl stories. Drawing inspiration from staple titles in the genre, like Sailor Moon and Pretty Cure, and combining them with her love of ancient history, she hopes to showcase engaging magical battles alongside a healthy dose of what life might've been like thousands of years ago. Her current project is Saffron Wave, set 3000 years ago on ancient Crete, and focuses on a young girl from the Minoan civilization becoming the world's first magical girl.
